EGGER LIAISON COMMIITTEE MEETING 6 JULY 2010 

1     The acoustic reduction material for the new sound enclosure was ordered directly after the company received the planning approval from NCC

2     The sound baffling  material for the noisy  log-handler will be fitted by end September , so we will organise a visit in Mid October;

3      There have been no noise complaints of late , possibly because people know that measures are imminent and they are waiting to see what happens;

4      A new warehouses is to be erected in the middle of the site, but with no visual  or noise implications and all duly permitted; (work is expected to start mid August);

5     All trees planted by Egger  are growing well ( And on the subject of trees, Philip Herdman is to replace the dead ones that he planted for us after a review this September ) .

Egger also confirmed that there is a small further budget allocated for us if we come up with tree planting sites that the Oakwood and Anick community would welcome ;

6      24 hour operation of the chipping machines remains unnecessary for the foreseeable future.;

7      Nick Barrett is in frequent contact and will play a key role when the noise reduction measures have been completed ;

8     Constant supply of woodchips has been made more certain for the short and medium term ;

9     The new site will be under maintenance during the week commencing  19th July which is the annual shut down for about 5 days

10     Over 450 people work at the plant, 9 apprentices from the region start in the plant in September
