The Current Council (at May 2013)
Following the May elections for County, Town & Parish Councils, Sandhoe Parish Council found itself to be inquorate. Only one person was nominated and was duly deemed to be appointed (without an election). To function fully the Council should have 5 councillors or a minimum of 3 in order to be quorate. Three new councillors have subsequently been nominated and now serve on the Council. There is still one vacancy. If you have an interest in serving on the Council please contact the Clerk of the Council whose details are shown below.
Please note that under the provision of the Localism Bill, with effect from 1st July 2012, parish councils are required to display a register of members' interests on the parish council web site. Sandhoe Parish Council is compiling a register of members interests which will be updated shortly in line with new legislation and displayed on this site. If you wish to see the current register you should apply to the Clerk (details below). When the County Council has clarified the situation this web site will display a full register of Councillors' declarations of interest.

Sandhoe Parish has a small number of assets. Some of these are legally recognised assets which belong to the Parish (they are 'assets of the Parish') whereas others are items which are 'assets to the Parish'. For example, the village green is an asset of the parish and the Parish is responsible for it, whereas the school or the pub are assets to the Parish and are the responsibility of others. A comprehensive list is being compiled and verification of the ownership of items is currently being sought. A definitive list will be published here as soon as it becomes available.
As at early 2012, the parish's assets are thought to include the Anick village green, 2 notice boards, a bus shelter and a number of public seats. A map showing the approximate location of some of these items can be seen by following the link below.
